How do you transport a 40 foot shipping container?
A 40ft shipping container is transported the same way as a 20ft — on a flatbed truck with a Hiab crane or by tilt truck. The truck must be longer to handle the 40ft length and meet weight limits. Most road transport caps loaded weight at 24 metric tons. Wide-load permits are needed in some areas.
Did you know?
A loaded 40ft container can be longer than many people expect. On difficult sites, turning space often becomes a bigger challenge than lifting capacity. Related questions
