How do you open a shipping container?
Shipping container doors swing open from one end. Each door has 4 vertical locking bars. To open, lift each bar handle, rotate it 90 degrees to disengage from the locking cams, then swing the door open. The door is heavy at 80 kg or more. Two people make it safer to handle.
Did you know?
Container doors are designed to create pressure before they create security. When the locking bars rotate, they pull the doors tightly against the rubber seals. That compression is what helps keep out wind and rain during years of use. TITAN CONTAINERS ARE CERTIFIED TO, OR CAN SUPPORT COMPLIANCE WITH, THE FOLLOWING ACCREDITATIONS
