Can I drive a forklift straight into a container?

Yes, with care.

Yes – provided your ramps are strong enough. The ones we have available for hire have a load weight of a little over 1,000lbs and are designed for trolleys, not forklifts.

Some clients construct a concrete ramp for their forklifts, which is fine if you want to risk it – but please be aware that you will be responsible for the price of repairing any damage you cause to the container.

Did you know?
Most people worry about the total weight of a forklift. Engineers often worry more about the wheels. A loaded forklift concentrates its weight onto a very small contact area, which is why a container floor can experience higher pressure from a forklift tyre than from a much heavier vehicle.
