Climate Controlled Container Rental
Extra temperature-controlled capacity without building new cold rooms
A climate-controlled storage container gives you usable space exactly where the work is happening. We place portable cold stores directly at your site, so your team can load, pick and store products close to the action – whether that’s production, dispatch, kitchens, clinics or event areas.
For every kind of cold storage need, our ArcticStore refrigerated container rentals are the right place to start. These portable units operate like walk-in cold rooms and use reefer container technology, with insulation, refrigeration equipment and air circulation built in.
Rental is available for short-term and long-term use. It means you can add capacity for a breakdown, refit, seasonal peak, project or ongoing needs – without the construction, major disruption or capital spend that comes with a permanent cold room.
We provide refrigerated containers and freezers across the US and Canada from more than 40 well-stocked yards. Whenever you need refrigerated units in the US, TITAN has the answer.
What we mean by a climate-controlled container
Cold storage providers use different names for the same thing. What we call a climate-controlled container is also often referred to as a:
- Climate controlled shipping container
- Climate controlled portable storage
- Climate controlled pods
- Climatized container
- Cold storage unit
It all adds up to the same thing: a portable, refrigerated (reefer) container for storing chilled or frozen products. If you’d like to dig deeper, our explainer on what is a reefer container will help clarify the language.
Please note that climate control does not automatically mean humidity control. Contact our team for more information and guidance on the best container for you.
Choose the right TITAN solution
We match the rental unit to your temperature, storage volume, access needs and site setup. Our products fall into two categories:
- ArcticStore refrigerated containers – our main climate-controlled rental solution for chilled and frozen storage on customer sites. These are a strong fit for food, farming, medical products, production overflow and temporary cold storage.
- HotStore – a heated storage container for when you need warmth, not refrigeration. HotStore can heat up to +185°F and is suited to chemicals, warming chilled products, component testing and drying.
Across our full range of models, we can cover any temperature from -103°F up to +185°F. Tell us the temperature you need, and we’ll direct you to the right rental option.

Practical setup advice before delivery
A good setup starts before the truck arrives. The right location makes loading easier and helps you get the best out of your rental unit. Follow these TITAN top tips to make your ArcticStore or HotStore delivery as smooth as possible.
- Choose level, stable ground. Pick a firm area that can handle the unit and regular loading activity. Always avoid soft or uneven ground.
- Keep access clear. Plan the route in and out, not just the final position. Delivery, placement and collection all need workable access.
- Plan power early. Refrigerated and heated units need power. We’ll confirm requirements during quoting, but it’s helpful to know in advance what’s available onsite.
- Think about daily use. Position the doors where staff can load safely and quickly. Once up and running, avoid unnecessary door opening to keep temperatures steady.
Our delivery and placement planning information will help your team prepare the site before the rental starts.
4 Common uses for climate controlled container rental
- Emergency backup during breakdowns or refits. When a cold room is full, down or under repair, a portable cold store keeps stock close by while the main space is unavailable. It helps reduce risk from temperature swings without requiring a permanent build-out.
- Seasonal peaks and long-term overflow. Rental gives you extra space when demand spikes – or long-term cold space when your existing capacity is already at its limit.
- Events and catering. Temporary kitchens, venues, caterers and event operators need cold storage near service areas. A climate-controlled rental unit can help with prep, holding and replenishment during high-volume events. TITAN has helped keep burgers and beer flowing at shows and festivals worldwide.
- Medical and pharmaceutical stock. Healthcare and life science buyers often need controlled-temperature space for sensitive inventory, such as vaccines. We meet all medical product storage and pharmaceutical cold storage needs, matching options to your required temperature and site plan.
